Search continues for the driver after the SUV crashed into a Bronx restaurant, injuring 2 people


MOTT HAVEN, Bronx (WABC) – The search continues for the driver of the SUV crashed into a restaurant in the Mott Haven area of ​​the Bronx on Wednesday, send two people to the hospital.

The driver fled after the vehicle with Texas license plates plowed into the outdoor seating area at Villa Tapia on the corner of East 139th and Brook Avenue.

A 17-year-old girl is still in critical condition, but she is expected to survive.

A 40-year-old man suffered a broken leg and back injury. That victim told Eyewitness News he was standing on the sidewalk, and the impact left him cold.

He also said that he hopes the driver is found and held accountable.
