It’s time to say goodbye to Fortnite Chapter 2 – The Finale is on the way and there will be a big event and some downtime between now and start Chapter 3. We’re expecting big things at this point, but how big will it all be? Here’s everything we know about what Epic Games has prepared…
FINAL STAGES – Chimpanski .’s “Guava Fortress”
We don’t know exactly where Chimpanski, Sloane, and Fortnite Islanders will create The ultimate fight against the Queen of the Cube – but we have a pretty good prediction. The POI known as “Fortress Guava” has entered its final stages of construction.

It doesn’t look like much when you compare it to the Cube Pyramid in the background, but the nuclear payloads scattered across the roof areas have to do something – right?
BONUS XP – Ends a bit early!
Season 8 will end a day earlier than originally forecast, and that means you’ll get some bonus XP if you own the season 8 Battle Pass.

Finals confirmed
We have now confirmed that Fortnite Chapter 2 will end on Saturday, December 4. The ‘The End’ event will take place on this date at 21:05 GMT / 16:05 ET / 13:05 PT. We expect Black Hole to return to offline gaming until Tuesday, December 7.
SPOILERS – Some details about the event
TweaBR shared the following details about the “The End” event – season them with a pinch of salt until we see the testimonial, but this could be an interesting finale to Chapter 2.
- Sliding Mechanism – This was revealed in a previously leaked Loading Screen image and it looks like it will appear in an event rollout update.
- Creature Killer – The in-game event could be a wave-like survival mode against the Cube Queen and her forces.
- Catching up – A teleport mechanic can be introduced to keep everyone the same narrative rhythm.
They also suggest that these will be the following gameplay stages:
- Att – Attack
- Bea – Beam
- Bre – Violation
- Bri – Bridge
- Cinema – Cinema
- Esc – Exit
- Lob – Lobby
- PCin – Maybe have to reload into a game?
- Swi – Maybe related to Swimming?
THE END – Another event that ends Fortnite Island
We don’t have too many details about Chapter 2 Season 8’s end-of-season event – however, all we do know is that it will lead to the end of Chapter 2’s plot completely and completely. it will be called “The End”.
In the shade, a Fortnite Leaker, shared the following and it looks like it was only further confirmed by more official sources.
We should see the downtime starting on December 5 and ending on December 7. However, this has not been confirmed. It looks like The Foundation has dialogue around this time around, so we’ll see something a bit interesting regarding the enigmatic “Seven”.
DOWNTIME – Updated “NightNight” file
In 18.40 Update, Epic Games updated several “NightNight” files – all related to extended downtimes, like Chapter 2’s Black Hole event.
For now, we’re only aware of the following changes – they may not sound important, but they have to be done for a reason.
- New in-game text in “NightNight”
- “A game update is available”
- “An update is available. Please close the game if you are ready to install the latest update.”

When does Fortnite Chapter 3 start?
If Fortnite Chapter 3 is indeed a sequel to the game, it will begin on or around Monday, December 6. We know that. Season 8 will end on Sunday, December 5, it also appears that Black Hole will return marking extended server downtime.
Chances are that if the black hole is used, Fortnite’s servers will experience some downtime from Sunday, December 5 to Tuesday, December 7. This is just because Tuesday is a typical day. image for the updates to take place. The last time the black hole was used was this as it had been around for about 37 hours.
