The guesthouse where the crime took place is located on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors. The BPO booked the entire sixth floor, including three rooms and the lobby, for Saturday’s party.
According to the complaint, there were only eight people at the party, six of them women, all on a remote calling team. Das is their team leader, while Sutradhar and Banerjee are senior managers.
The survivor told police that Das took her to one of the rooms – where Sutradhar and Banerjee were present – after the party started and people started drinking. “They all started drinking. The woman complained that she started to feel drowsy after a while and passed out. When she woke up, she found herself naked and lying in bed, alone. She called her colleagues, who said they had left while she was sleeping. She returned home and filed charges against the two men and woman on Wednesday because she believes she was raped,” the official added.
A medical forensic examination was conducted to confirm her claims and the defendant was picked up from the office within an hour of the complaint being filed.
