Serena Williams makes it clear she’s not retiring from tennis

Now we know that Serena Williams has been solidified as a GOAL when it comes to tennis courts. However, earlier this year, she announced her departure from tennis and officially retired from the game after competing in the US Open last month. However, Serena is making it clear that she hasn’t given up on the sport yet.

Recently speaking at TechCrunch Disruption Conference support her company Serena Ventures, she made it clear that she hasn’t retired yet. When asked about the chances of us seeing her play again, she said the chances are “very high”, and then went on to joke that she has a tennis court at her house. However, there is no talk of her going pro.

Based on CBS SportsSerena talked about her company and also said,

“I started this company a while ago, so I just jumped right into it. I didn’t even think about retiring altogether. I haven’t really thought about it yet. But I went to the court the day before and [realized] For the first time in my life I didn’t compete and it felt very strange. It was like the first day of the rest of my life, and so far, I’m enjoying it. But I’m still trying to find that balance.”

Last month, tennis fans were excited when she was asked if she would pull Tom Brady during an appearance on The Tonight Show. At the time, she responded and said, “Tom Brady has started a great trend.”

Like before reported, Serena Williams announced her evolution away from the sport in Vogue.

At the time, she said,

“I never liked the word retirement. To me, it doesn’t sound like a modern word. I was thinking of this as a transition, but I want to be sensitive about how I use the word, to mean something very specific and important to a community of people. Probably the best word to describe what I’m doing is evolution. I am here to tell you that I am growing from tennis, towards other things that are important to me. “

In the issue, she also detailed her family expansion, saying: “Believe me, I never wanted to have to choose between tennis and a family. I don’t think it’s fair. If I were a guy, I wouldn’t be writing this because I would be out there playing and winning while my wife is doing manual labor to expand our family.”

Serena broke down in tears and received a standing ovation after her final match at the US Open last month.

Roommate, would you like to see Serena back on the tennis court again?
