Seth Rogen and Sebastian Stan Turn to Tonal Suits
This week, the cast of Hulu’s Pam & Tommy took to the red carpet to mark the finale of their hugely epic 1990s miniseries. And the two showrunners – Sebastian Stan as Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee and Seth Rogen as shady contractor Rand Gauthier – brought their A-list fashion game. Luckily, both Rogen and Stan left behind their characters’ favorite wardrobes—man thongs and baggy sportswear, respectively — on the set. Instead, they choose a particularly fun way to look more formal: colorful, toned clothes.
Here’s Rogen’s latest haute couture moment: you may remember that, at the show’s premiere in January, he wore a light gray number from Fear of God by Jerry Lorenzo. This time, he’s wearing a casual British Paul Smith suit. It’s not quite as deliberately oversized as before, but no one would mistake it for a thin cut. The real statement here is the color: an interesting burnt orange that you don’t often see applied to a suit. Plus, the patch pockets on the felt jacket are a casual beauty touch.
Stan, meanwhile, opted for a tonal look in a more dramatic shade. He opted for a velvety rosy Dolce & Gabbana suit paired with a silky pink shirt — a more saturated shade than we’re used to seeing. In the last week, the always busy Stan has mixed more subdued shades of Navy and black at events for his latest movie. (He wore flaming red suit last month.) It also makes sense: if ever he wore a chic pink suit, it was the end of promotions for a project in which he played the unafraid guy. wear colored velvet on the red carpet.
Rogen and Stan showed two wildly different ways to wear a ton-sur-ton outfit. Rogen is somewhat pragmatic in an earthy tone; Stan goes with grandeur and statement color. On the red carpet, at least, you can choose to dress in terracotta or Pink Panther — either way wins.
