SEVEN PLAYERS OF SOFT BALL NAME NFCA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES



SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento State softball program has seven players on the 2022 roster receive a Scholar-Athlete Award from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) after scoring 3.5 gpa or higher in school year 2021-22.

The seven players who received the honor were Kelsey Alcantara, Marissa Bertuccio, Haley Hanson, Gwen Ludwig, Alyssa Nunez, Parish of Alexis and Arianna Pires. Nunez is now a three-time winner of the award while Bertuccio, Hanson and Parish have each received the title for the second time.

Overall, Sacramento State posted a 3.14 team average for the school year, ranking among the top 150 in the nation. I team for the average score. In addition, there were a total of 15 players on last year’s list who now have average scores above 3.0.
