Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) reach alarming rates
The rate of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) detected is alarming in the United States according to Report on surveillance of sexually transmitted diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis were reported among the top and most commonly reported STD cases, with increased their rate by 30% from 2015 to 2019. Experts claim that testing for STD infections as a result of the nationwide COVID-19 pandemic is one of its main reasons.

Thereby, the study highlights the need for early diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases – untreated diseases can lead to consequences such as: infertility and cancer.
From April is celebrated as STD Awareness Month, Everyone is invited to a rally to raise awareness about communicable and sexually transmitted diseases, help reduce stigma associated with STDs, and take action steps to help reduce the rise STDs locally and nationally.
