Unless you’re living under a rock (or aren’t on TikTok), you’ve certainly seen the seemingly never-ending series of tutorials and reviews starring the prodigal. Dyson AirWrap. As someone who didn’t win the Christmas jackpot last year, I pulled hundreds of dollars out of my pocket so I could finally get my hands on it earlier this year. And while it’s certainly a great product, the high price tag makes it significantly less. If you’re someone who can’t bite the bullet and hit pay yourself, allow me to introduce you to what is sure to become your new go-to destination: Shark FlexStyle.
Similar to Dyson, Shark is the home of best selling technology vacuum cleaner and other devices — so we’re off to a good start. The extensive knowledge of both companies in this field has proven to be very profitable in the beauty sector, but Shark lead in my book for so many reasons. First of all: price. As mentioned before, AirWrap will cost you about $600 at a time. That is, if you can even get your hands on it when it’s not out of stock. Newly released FlexStyle on the other hand, more than half the price, at just $250. When you purchase Shark’s latest product, you can choose between three dryer heads — with options including flat brush, round brush, diffuser, styler, and curling iron. Everyone has different hair types and therefore different needs, which is why this system is effective and personalized.
As someone with extremely thin hair, drying my curls has always been a fairly quick process. One worry I’ve always had, however, is doing so in a way that doesn’t feel harsh and damaging. After all, what good is a blowout if it causes a rupture? Using FlexStyle, you can create salon-appropriate styling using hot air instead of just heat. It also regulates its temperature to prevent heat damage.

Device There are four heat settings and three airflows that can be increased or decreased throughout your drying and styling experience.
Another bad thing about my hair is its overall volume that blends in with the semi-wavy look. Now, (please don’t judge me for this admission) but before, whenever I needed to curl my hair, I needed to have it done and straightened first – a completely blasphemous beauty fix, I know. One thing I really love FlexStyle is its ability to do both. This device has a switch that turns from a dryer to a styling wand. This is also where your attachments come into play. When I’m in the mood to really let go of my natural curls, a diffuser has proven to be the perfect accessory for creating minimal and defined curls.
So what’s the difference between FlexStyle and Dyson? Its ease. With Dyson, the reason there are so many tutorials online is because achieving your desired results can be extremely difficult. There are certain ways you need to maneuver your tools or have specific products recommended to really create lasting style. I don’t have this problem with Shark’s replacement. If it weren’t for the fact that I bought Dyson, I would have given up trying to learn it a long time ago. Oh, the time (and money) I would have saved if I had FlexStyle when I bought it.
If you are looking for a device that can improve your home exhaust system, Shark FlexStyle It’s unquestionable and worth a try. It’s less damaging than some of the more affordable and budget-friendly Dyson alternatives. Best of both worlds? I would definitely say so.
