Shikhar Dhawan Leads India in ODIs Against South Africa: Report
Batter Shikhar Dhawan will lead India in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa at home, sources in the Control Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) told ANI. The captaincy will be given to Dhawan as the T20 World Cup players will likely be rested, the sources added. The eighth ICC T20 World Cup will take place from October 16 to November 13 this year in Australia. Moreover, VVS Laxman likely to be with the team as a coach in the absence of a head coach Rahul Dravid.
India will play three T20I and three ODI against South Africa starting September 28.
The first T20I will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on September 28. The second T20I will be broadcast on October 2 in Guwahati, followed by the final T20I in Indore on October 4.
The action will then move to Lucknow on October 6, where the ODI series will get underway, where Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team.
