Shooting broke out as parishioners of Milwaukee church left service


A church service at the Reformation Church of Holiness on Chambers and 21st Streets in Milwaukee began Sunday afternoon as witnesses described seeing a shooting at the property. “Another car was behind them. There was a big shooting right here,” Bishop Henry Kilpatrick told Courtney Sisk of WISN 12 News. “I started pushing people back inside, and told them to hit the floor, the floor, and them to the floor.” Church leaders said they hoped there could be more police presence and quicker response in the future. Another witness said. They believe people in separate cars are shooting at each other.

A church service at the Reformation Church of Holiness on Chambers and 21st Streets in Milwaukee took place Sunday afternoon when witnesses described seeing a shooting at the property.

“As they came out of the church, a car came up here and started shooting at another car that was behind them. There was a big shooting right here,” Bishop Henry Kilpatrick told WISN 12 News ‘Courtney Sisk. “I started pushing people back inside, and told them to hit the floor, the floor, and them to the floor.”

Church leaders said they hoped for an additional police presence and quicker response in the future.

No one from the church was injured.

WISN 12 News cameras discovered more than 20 shell casings in the corner, with more under the block.

Another witness said: “It looked like a shootout.” They believe people in separate cars are shooting at each other.

WISN 12 News has asked Milwaukee police if anyone has been injured, or is in custody, but has yet to receive a response.
