According to police, the investigation determined that two people left the dog near a road in the area of 106 Street and Morgan Avenue. Police say they fired a BB gun at the dog and backed the animal as they left the area.
Detective Bill King said: “There is evidence of something happening inside the vehicle. “We found more BBs. There was blood everywhere inside the car. ”
Investigators have released surveillance images of those involved in the case. An image shows a woman at a gas station. She is wearing gray sneakers, gray sweatpants and a black jacket. She has orange/magenta hair.
Another image shows her with a man. The man is wearing a white coat, black pants, dark hat and glasses.

Police say the vehicle used in the animal cruelty case was stolen, and has been recovered in St. Paul.
Veterinary care for the dog included ophthalmic surgery and procedures to remove BB pellets from its right leg and other body areas. One of the vets who helped take care of the dog said that three more pellets were still inside.
That woman is nursing the dog right now during his recovery. She is considering adopting her.
The dog visited the Bloomington Police Department on Wednesday. She is believed to be a cross between a Rottweiler Shepherd Dog about a year old.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to call investigators at 952-563-4689.
Bloomington’s Detective George Harms, who is helping with the investigation, said: “This is not just a small matter. “It is quite serious. Surprisingly, the dog was able to survive.”
