Covington beat Jorge Masvidal earlier this month, scored a unanimous decision. While he was invited to discuss the match, among other things, he talked about kneeling for first responders – in the middle of his battle.
Amid the praise he had for the police force and first responders, Covington surreptitiously commented on the four-time NBA champion:
“That’s why I laugh at LeBron James, you know. Like, man, you’re talking crap – you’re putting your sights on the backs of police officers. But then you are using police security every day. “
Covington’s comments about James stem from James’ previous comments about police brutality that have occurred on multiple occasions since 2020. In April 2021, James is outspoken about the murder of a 16-year-old. age – write the words “You’re next #accountability,” call the relevant police. He later deleted the tweet, claiming it was used to create more hate.
Before his recent fight, Covington called James a spineless coward again, in his earlier interviews:
“I want to give a big thank you to all the real heroes and celebrities in this country. Not a coward, without a backbone like LeBron James. I’m talking about our heroes – law enforcement, our military, our first responders – God bless you all. “
While Covington may have been in a relationship with the NBA star, James doesn’t seem to be deterred – choosing to ignore the UFC fighter and his ramblings. James has other problems to deal with, like LA Lakers Struggling to stay in contention.
