Sit down with the producers of ‘Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars’ in this interview

Cross action RPG Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars launches on Switch this week. To celebrate, Idea Factory International released a brand new video where the game makers sat down to talk about what we can expect from this hack-and-slash, including the ending. How common is the union of two fan service IPs. .

Naoko Mizuno, Neptunia series producer and Makoto Kitano, the co-producer of this crossover, started with Idea Factory planning its next Neptunia game. From the very beginning, the concept of a ninja was on the table, with Neptune himself becoming a ninja. Kitano reveals that they want Senran Kagura The girls play a number of cameos throughout the game – which makes sense since they’re all ninjas – but when introducing the game to Marvelous, they’re encouraged to do more:

“At first, we thought we’d have the Senran Kagura characters appear as guests. However, when we explained the idea to Marvelous, they were very receptive, so we decided to do the battle. war between two groups. [Neptunia and Senran Kagura] the main focus of the game. “

When asked how they feel about these two hugely popular franchises finally coming together, Mizuno spoke of her initial reservations:

“In my head I picture Neptunia and Senran Kagura, and I think the two will go well together. That’s all in my head, and I worry when we actually put them together. Visually, however, once I got a chance to see them together on screen, I thought it looked fine and there’s no reason to worry.”

The developers wanted to retain the original art style of the Senran Kagura series to preserve the feel of those games and characters, and while you can certainly tell the difference, the big personality of all All the characters come together visually.

The two producers mulled over a number of stories and concepts that developed throughout, including an interesting anecdote when Mizuno revealed that she had entered a boss fight that was completely unfounded! We’ve all been there Mizuno, don’t worry too much.

At the end of the video, Kitano talks about the new Hard and Easy Modes added to the Switch version of the game, allowing you to customize the difficulty before entering any of the game’s dungeons. This will allow you to enjoy the world and story of the game at your own pace, or challenge crowds of enemies that are hard to take down like a boss!

Fans don’t have to wait any longer to play this installment on Switch, as Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars releases tomorrow, April 19, in North America, and over the weekend on April 22 in Europe. In fact, our review dropped earlier today and we gave it six out of ten. We thought fans of Neptunia or Senran Kagura would enjoy the game, but ultimately, its short length and small cast meant the game would be over in a flash.
