Snam buys Golar Tundra FSRU 5 billion cubic meters for $350 million
The Golar Board of Directors approved the transaction on May 30, 2022.
Built in 2015, Golar Tundra can act as both an LNG supplier and an FSRU. The vessel has a capacity of about 170 thousand cubic meters of LNG and a continuous redeployment capacity of 5 billion cubic meters per year.
To maximize its renewable capacity, it will be located in north-central Italy.
The The Golar Tundra FSRU will begin operating as a floating LNG refueling terminal in the spring of 2023.
The completion of the transaction takes place concurrently with the signing of the contract and will be financed by Snam with its own resources.
In the coming months, Snam will begin operations to contract LNG refueling capacity, which will gradually become available from the launch of Golar Tundra as FSRU scheduled for spring 2023 .
