SNL’s ‘Weekend Update’ Roasts Santos, MTG and Trump’s ‘Big Ole Dump Truck’
ABOVE Saturday night live’In this week’s “Weekend Update,” co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che took on some of the newer stars of the Republican Party. But as usual, Donald Trump was the hardest hit.
“Representative George Santos said he is giving up his committee duties to avoid distractions,” Che said. “He added, ‘The last thing I want is attention.’ Then he sashayed in a feather boa.
Jost then delved one more time into Santos by naming one of the New York congressmen most recently discovered lies that he was a producer on a hit Broadway play Spider-Man: Turn off the Darkness. “Even though he ended up working with the Green Goblin,” he added as a photo of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared on the screen next to him.
“It has been announced that Donald Trump’s golf courses will host three LIV golf tournaments this year, bolstering Trump’s relationship with Saudi Arabia,” Che later reported. “Their relationship makes sense. Saudi Arabia needs venues for their golf tournaments, and Trump needs oil for that big dump truck,” he joked as a photo of the former president’s back surfaced.
Che also criticized Trump for defending the fifth person hundreds of times during a recent hearing. “Also take a fifth, his lawyer,” he said, referring to Rudy Giuliani.
But the joke that received the biggest reaction of the night had nothing to do with politics. It comes as Jost tells viewers that the two brothers will face each other in the Super Bowl for the first time,” before adding, “By chance, the two brothers in the Super Bowl is why my grandfather won’t. see. “
When the live audience groaned and Jost looked down in embarrassment, Che just shook his head and said, “And in February, man.”
