‘Spencer’ Komplizen Film Producers Join Indie Alliance The Creative – The Hollywood Reporter

Germany’s Komplizen Film, the production company behind the Oscar nomination Spencer and won an Oscar A wonderful womanas well as the famous German TV series Toni Erdmannjoined The Creative, a new alliance of boutique film companies founded earlier this year and backed by global production giant Fremantle.

Komplizen was founded in 1999 by producer Janine Jackowski and Toni Erdmann Directed by Maren Ade, with Spencer producer Jonas Dornbach joined in 2010. The company specializes in high-profile art films by international artists, including Pablo Larraín, Radu Jude, Sebastián Lelio, Miguel Gomes, Nadav Lapid and Valeska Grisebach.

The Creations has signed a three-year partnership with Fremantle to develop and finance premium soap operas for the international production giant. The Creative Team will work alongside Christian Vesper, president of global drama at Fremantle, and Fremantle’s Global Drama Team.

The Creative Alliance is a response to major changes in the independent production landscape as the growth of streaming services has led to an explosion in demand for new content, but also centralization of power. finance and creativity in the hands of a handful of streaming and studio players.
