Spider-Man: Miles Morales advice: 7 things to know before you start

Spiderman: Miles Morales is an excellent sequel to Marvel‘S Spiderman. Although Miles’ story is shorter and less relevant than Peter Parker’s, we still learn quite a bit. in this Spider-Man: Miles Morales As a beginner’s guide, we’ve rounded up seven of the best tips to help you get through your first few hours of playing PS4 and PS5 games from developer Insomniac, now available on Steam.

Note: This guide was originally published in 2020. We will finalize this guide today once the game is released on Steam.

Venom attack is your best ability

Miles doesn’t have nearly the same gadgets as Peter Parker, nor does he have the super power to always charge. Instead, Miles has his own set of tools. The first and most powerful of them all is Miles’ Venom’s attack (not to be confused with the Eddie Brock-possessed Symbiote).

In Spider-Man: Miles Morales, you trigger Venom’s attacks by holding L1 (on PlayStation) and pressing the face button. They’re easy to forget, which means you’ll end up sitting on a pile of Venom’s energy. But you don’t want to sit on that Venom energy, because these abilities are extremely useful.

Smash the venom is one of the first things you pick up and it allows you to deal a lot of damage and stun all nearby enemies. The venom dance The ability — allowing you to launch all nearby enemies into the air — is great for aerial combat and juggling. These are your basic Venom skills, and each of these skills has a lot of use cases.

Combat is significantly harder without using Venom’s ability, so make sure to use that energy when it shows up.

Do your Spider Training ASAP for some sweet abilities

At the beginning of the story, Peter Parker will ask you to take some training in holograms. When you complete the related story quest you will unlock more Spider-Man Training around the map. Prioritize these.

These quests serve as a good guide to Miles’ skills, but they also unlock exclusive abilities when you first complete them — useful tools like Payback, which allows you to instantly cast Down Strike on an enemy if you perfectly dodge their ranged attack. To get that, all you need to do is complete Combat Challenge Training 2.0 with an Excellent (bronze) rating.

You can repeat these challenges again for more Active tokenSpider-Man: Miles Morales‘ currency for buy new Spiderman suit and upgrade — but don’t spend too much time trying to maximize your rank until you’ve leveled up and gotten some upgrades. That makes it much easier to rank higher.

Skip the story first

Miles Morales there are 15 story missions and you will get a new gear or unlock a new side activity after most of those missions. Focus on the story first and roam around the city helping people second. This way you can really maximize your time by taking everything in a county in one trip.

Think of it this way: If you were playing in a real sandbox and needed to go to the store to buy a new toy, would you rather make a quick stop at a store or a big store? We will choose the latter. Also, the campaign isn’t too long and you’ll come out the other side with lots of new toys to play with.

Prevent crime in your spare time

If you want to unlock new clothes and new gear items in Miles Morales, you will need an Activity Token and a Technology Token. You get Tech Tokens from some collectibles and Activity Tokens when completing activities. This includes active criminals that randomly appear on the map. But not like in Marvel’s Spider-ManYou don’t have to complete all the crimes in a county to finish that area.

Thanks to Miles’ phone FNSM app, you can actually choose what type of crime situation you want to play in. The game will then direct you to the crime of your choice and you can earn Activity Tokens that way. If you’re in a hurry and see criminals popping up, please go ahead and catch up on your phone later.

Camouflage is an offensive and defensive tool

In one of the first major quests, you’ll unlock Miles’ second unique tool: camouflage. Camouflage makes Miles invisible, allowing you to escape or join the attack.

This is both an offensive and defensive tool, and can be difficult to get used to if you’re not a stealthy player. Sure, you can use stealth to cover your butt while going back into the shadows, but it’s also a great tool for a surprise attack.

You can also use camouflage to disrupt the flow of combat. If an enemy with a shield rushes in to attack, use your stealth to safely disarm them before rushing in for the kill (or knocking them to pieces, thanks to Spider-Man’s non-killing) . When used properly, you can dance around the battlefield and set up some devastating combos.

When you’re in disguise, play with it in any situation. It’s very versatile, so you’ll eventually find a style of play that works for you.

Scan often and everywhere

Miles Morales there are some collectibles hidden behind walls or crates — and some random chance to get Tech Tokens mid-mission if you pay attention. There are also some hidden Spider-Man: Miles Morales title to find locations that are particularly easy to miss. You can find all these with the naked eye or you can scan.

Like in Marvel’s Spider-Man, press R3 (on PlayStation) to pulse. This will highlight your quest objective or help you find something you can interact with up close. It will also highlight enemy targets. But you can also use it to find content you didn’t know was there, such as your father’s gravestone or a giant memorial statue of Stan Lee.

When you’re exploring around the city, hit that scan button whenever you think about it.

Stealth is a viable option in base attacks

If you have played Marvel’s Spider-Man As a stealth player, you’re probably annoyed that your super-sneaky attempts at basic missions inevitably end up in multiple waves of combat — we sure do! But Miles Morales different activities.

While you’re attacking a base, you can engage in full-scale combat or take a stealthy approach. If you alert the guards, they’ll call in some support and you’ll have a real battle on your hands. But if you manage to take out all the guards before they recognize you, the encounter will end without a single reinforcement.

If you played the first game and vowed not to stealth, try again in Miles Morales.
