Spirit Airlines says New Jersey jet fire caused by ‘large bird’ flying into engine

Passengers have been deplaned from a Spirit Airways airplane in New Jersey Saturday night after a jet fireplace compelled the pilots to abort takeoff.

A flight that was meant to take off from Atlantic Metropolis Worldwide Airport to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was accelerating when “what’s believed to be a big fowl” flew by the engine and brought about the fireplace, Spirit Airways stated in a press release.

“The captain braked safely, acquired a sign of injury to the engine, and ordered an evacuation in accordance with our commonplace procedures,” the airline stated. “All Company and Group Members evacuated the plane and have been bussed again to the terminal.”

Vacationers got a full refund and a journey voucher for future journey, with the choice of flying on a later flight to Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the incident and stated it was investigating the incident.

Video posted online by the Lakewood Scoop appeared to point out passengers deplaning by an inflatable slide out of the airplane door. The slides are deployed for emergency evacuations, as a part of airline security laws.
