End four years agodeveloper Gagnetar created a mod for Half life 2 brought back Krystal from the Star Fox series. Seeing Krystal walking around in a Half-Life game was impressive in itself, but Gagnetar has now taken her commitment to the character one step further. On Thursday, he shared an update that adds original dialogue recorded by Krystal’s voice actor, Estelle Ellis, to the mod.

In the video, Ellis’ British accent echoes through the hallways and blends into the game perfectly. The trailer takes place in Kleiner’s Lab and shows Krystal testing the teleportation device. In Half-Life, Eli is Alyx’s father. So Gagnetar edited the dialogue where the two would call each other father and daughter.
Ellis was the original voice actor after Krystal when the character debuted in 2002 Star Fox Adventures. “I talked to [Ellis] for years now, decided to just buy her a decent microphone and we’ve worked from there,” Gagnetar said in response to YouTube comments.
The mod is still a work in progress – some lines are still unrecorded, and Gagnetar has noted in the comments that he plans to try and establish a different archetype for the character. (This version of her has very ugly breasts.) Regarding the release date, a post on a fan of Krystal site said Gagnetar plans to release the mod on September 23 – 20th anniversary Star Fox Adventures‘ launched.
