STORAGE ENDS 22nd IN HAMMER AT NCAA CHAMPIONS ONLY

EUGENE, Ore. – Sacramento State Senior Evan Stork earned the all-American mention after placing 22nd in the men’s hammer event at the NCAA Div. I won the track and field championship on Wednesday at Hayward Field.

Stork, who was competing in the first two flights, started his part with a 215-foot, 1-inch throw. That distance proved to be his best of the day as he added 207-04 and 207-09 throws.

Logan Blomquist of Southeast Missouri took first place with a personal best of 240-08.

Stork left Sacramento State as the school record holder in hammer throw. His 219-09 throw, set earlier this spring, is more than 7 feet away from second place in show history. Stork also finished third in the throwing weight category with a best record of 63-05.00.
