Street violence caught on camera in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania

JENKINTOWN, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – An incident of street violence and brutal assault was caught on camera in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

The attack happened around 10 a.m. Thursday near the intersection of Old York and Rydal streets.

Police said a man and woman beat the female victim and dragged her out of the car as she tried to flee.

Police arrived and found the woman unconscious.

Jenkintown detectives say the road-raged suspects fled in a black Ford pickup. They are now asking the public for help to locate it as the license plate has been removed.

Police say they’re not sure exactly what happened to trigger the attack, but they don’t believe the victim and the battered couple knew each other.

They are treating this as a case of road rage.

Police hope to have an interview with the victim once she has been discharged.

Mikey Lane happened to be at the mall near the intersection of Old York and Rydal streets when something happened.

“They’re gesturing to each other about which way they’re going,” Lane said.

He described those gestures and comments as being traded as obscene and added what he saw next.

“The guy jumped out of the car, I think he was going to do something like break up the fight, and instead he actually started getting involved with another woman,” Lane said.

Police said they are calling for more witnesses as many who witnessed the incident drove away.

A witness who recorded a video of the assault was handed over to the police.

This busy stretch of road has a lot of traffic in the morning and afternoon, at which time there are scooters in one of the lanes.
