Stuart Brennan’s Action-Fantasy Feature ‘Warchief’ Kaleidoscope Table – The Hollywood Reporter
Kaleidoscope Film Distribution has acquired international sales rights worldwide, along with distribution in the United Kingdom and Ireland, for Wiperupcoming film from BAFTA-winning director/writer/actor Stuart Brennan and Golden Globe-winning producer Gareth Wiley.
The previously unannounced film is currently filming in the UK county of Suffol and will be released in late 2022, with the first installments available to watch at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Wiper follows a band of guardians escorting a mysterious messenger to their king, unaware that they are being hunted by bloodthirsty orcs. Brennan wrote, directed, and starred in the film alongside Michael Lambourne (Cashback), Andrea Vasiliou (Wonder Woman), Suzanne Packer (BAFTA nominee, Casualty), Mark Wake (Kingslayer), and newcomer Rosanna Miles.
Veteran cameraman Doug Milsome, whose credits include Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, A Clockwork Orange and Stanley Kubrick titles like The Shining, Barry Lyndon and Full Metal JacketServe as the director of photography.
“This is an extremely ambitious project and it is great to have such an award-winning, renowned team working with me. Kaleidoscope has enjoyed such success with our previous projects, we are delighted they brought our Orc band to market,” Brennan said.
Working with Woody Allen, Wiley won best picture at the 2009 Golden Globes for Vicky, Christina, Barcelona and has been nominated for the same award for Match Score three years earlier. Brennan won Best Actor at the BAFTA Cymru Awards for his role in Revive and has many awards for his films, including necromancers and Plan Zboth of which he wrote, directed and starred in.
This is the second film to collaborate with Kaleidoscope with Brennan and Wiley after KingslayerReleased in the UK in September.
