Student at Waterloo Catholic school tests positive for COVID-19
Just two days into the school year, the Waterloo Catholic School District Board of Directors listed a student who tested positive for COVID-19.
The board would not say whether students at St. Brigid will attend Tuesday’s class, citing privacy concerns.

“Information about this case is a private matter and protecting the school board’s responsibility to privacy is not within our aim of the change,” Chief Executive John Shewchuk said in an email. .
“It’s been a case and as we can all appreciate, we’re not out of this pandemic yet, so we expect the occasional case.”

A note on the school’s website says the school will contact those whom the Waterloo Department of Public Health deems necessary.
“In the event that the Waterloo Public Health District notifies the Waterloo Catholic School District (WCDSB) Board of Directors that a classroom, cohort, or school should be closed for a period of time, parents, students and staff will be notified immediately,” the note read.
