Student stabbed with pencil multiple times during fight at Mountain View HS
Atlanta, Ga. (CBS46) – Parents of students at Mountain View High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, received a letter today about an incident at the school.
According to the letter, two 9th graders started fighting just before 1 p.m. in a classroom.
During the fight, one student stabbed the other student with a pencil several times.
A student who stabbed or “poked” another student was detained by school personnel. The remaining student was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The school said it will have a “grief counselor” at the school on Friday for any student who may have felt insecure after watching the fight and “seeing the blood of his or her classmate on the floor.” They will also have an additional school resource officer on campus.
The letter advises parents to talk to their children, be aware of their social media activity and listen to their concerns.
