A hairstylist was determined to take her money from a disgruntled customer who refused to pay. Looks like the client is looking for a hypothetical look. After the stylist completed the service, the client examined her hair and voiced her displeasure. In a series of customer-recorded videos, the women discuss service and payment. In the end, the stylist threatened to call the police to get her money.
In one of the first videos, the stylist, while away from the camera, asked the client to explain what she didn’t like about the style. She also reminds customers that she reviewed her work before booking. However, the client hit back, saying the finished style did not match the stylist’s other work.
The stylist also mentioned the client’s hair color as a reason why the style doesn’t match any of the example images.
“I had loc before and I colored it in, but it has never swelled like this,” replied the customer.
The customer requested a refund of the deposit–Stylist refuses
When the hairstylist asks for a settlement, the client requests a refund of the deposit. She gave the hairdresser the option to cut out the “bulges”. But, entrepreneurs don’t feel it.
“If you have a problem with paying me, you know you can… go to jail for that right,” the stylist replied.
But customers don’t back down. Instead, she explained again that she didn’t like the result of the service and agreed to let the stylist take it out. The customer also seems to reveal a deposit amount of 50% of the cost of the style.
Things continued to escalate between the two. Finally, the hairdresser told the client that if she wanted the placements removed, it would mean paying a takedown fee along with the remaining installation fees. After a brief pause, the stylist said, “I’ll just call Fulton County,” refer to the local Atlanta police.
The customer did not object to calling the police. Instead, she encouraged the hairdresser to call on law enforcement.
At that point, the disagreement spilled over from the stylist’s place of business into a cesspool.
Stylist calls the police to the client from the parking lot
Both women were standing in a parking lot when the hairdresser spoke on the phone to the police. The customer, who recorded most of the interactions, stood nearby.
“This lady here messed me up and is now calling the police because I don’t want to pay and ask her to take it down,” says the client – panning the camera to show the stylist.
Against this backdrop, the stylist explained to the police that her client refused to pay after she performed a service. At one point, she accused customers of trying to leave the premises without paying and screaming in the parking lot. However, the videos also failed to show accuracy and the client accused the stylist of lying to the police.
After making a 911 call, the stylist tells the client, “can you go.” But the customer insisted she wanted to wait for the police to get there so she could explain her point of view.
Police determine that the customer must pay for the service
When the police arrived and assessed the situation, the officer determined the stylist was correct.
“This is what I can tell you. The finished product is finished,” the official said. “The service was performed, which means you have to pay her for that service.”
However, the staff member explains the client’s future options. First, he said she could get a copy of the police report and try to sue in civil court.
“I felt like she knew she was messing around and that’s why she called the police to get her money. And that’s ridiculous,” said the customer.
Police explained that he was unable to determine whether the stylist’s actions were ludicrous. However, as of the date of the incident, she had to pay the stylist $100 to avoid jail time.
The woman then revealed on her Instagram Story that she decided to pay to avoid jail time for her son’s birthday. By the next day, she had been taken down by someone else and done the old style again.
