Subaru Solterra revealed as Toyota bZ4X badged

NS Electric SUV Subaru Solterra will make its official US debut next week in Los Angeles, along with US specifications. But it was soon shown in Japan. The SUV has been co-developed with Toyota, will sell it as bZ4X. And it’s no surprise that the two look almost identical.

That’s not exaggeration. The entire midsection, even the body panels, are Toyota-like. Inside Solterra, it again resembles the bZ4X, although no yoke is visible.

The visual difference comes down to the detailed changes at the front and rear. At the front, Solterra wears a fake grille border, one that matches the bumper and Subaru The badge has a square in the middle. This is a significant contrast to the Toyota which barely has a grille. Note that the lower grille door looks larger and has two large round fog lights. The backplate below is also more obvious. All of this is certainly meant to add some more solidity to the Subaru.

At the rear, the difference is more subtle. The center of the taillights is darkened to divide them. They also have a little red tail added to the bottom half to mirror other Subaru models. That’s where the changes end.

The specifications of Solterra are the same as those of Toyota. It looks like at least in Japan and possibly some other markets, the Solterra will even be offered with front-wheel drive and 201 hp, or a 214 hp all-wheel drive option. . Of course, we’ll have to wait until LA Auto Show to see what services the United States will receive.
