Sunshine Blogger Award 2018
We may make money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
Hey everyone! Remember me? First of all let me start by saying that I am very sorry for not posting for several months. I’m not sure what I was thinking when I decided to become a blogger and try to balance working full time, raising a family, pursuing my blogging dreams, and trying to achieve financial freedom. I love my day job so much, I really want to be able to work from home and be my own boss. Buuuut enough about that! If you really want something, you will do what it takes to get it, am I right? With that, I will commit to investing time in my blog for at least an hour a day. That’s a promise!
I’m still amazed and of course surprised that someone ever reads my blog or stumbles across it. So you can imagine I was stunned when I was nominated for the Liebster Prize this past March! Then again to my surprise, in April, I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award 2018 by Katie from Grits & Sand. Thank you so much Katie!!!
Katie is a small southern town girl with big dreams and loves food, travel and being the mom of the cutest little girl ever! She has great product reviews, recipes, and mothering tips. Katie has been nominated for a Mystery Blogger Award and a Sunshine Blogger Award and it’s no wonder why. She’s a new and up-and-coming blogger with great energy and positivity, you’ll want to bookmark her blog here!
What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?
The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award given to bloggers who inspire positivity, creativity and joy. So I’m glad Katie nominated me for this award because one of my goals when I started blogging was to hope that one day my stories will help inspire others. . Receiving this award means I’m on the right track! How great is that?!?

Katie’s questions for me:
Which fictional place would you like to live in? That’s a good question… definitely somewhere warm and tropical. I would have to say one fictional place I would like to live would be Motunui Island, where Disney’s Moana lived.
What is your favorite vacation and why? My favorite holiday would have to be Christmas because to me, Christmas means family, giving and sharing. I love all the Christmas decorations, holiday music, delicious holiday cupcakes and most of all, family get-togethers.
Why did you start blogging? I started blogging because I always enjoyed sharing my stories. Buuuut… it all really started because I was looking for something that would allow me to work from home. This hasn’t materialized yet, but it’s the ultimate goal.
What is your favorite book? Oooh take a look… I have a few, but I think the one I can read over and over again is Nicholas Sparks’ Notebook. I love the book and the movie
What advice would you give a fellow blogger? Well, I haven’t been a blogger for that long, but if I can offer any advice (and maybe I should listen to it myself) if you’re really serious about blogging, you need to take your time. regular time to blog work, even if it’s just an hour a day.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given? I’m not really shy, but I don’t like being bothered either. One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received was from my husband, who told me, “Eat with your mouth.” Meaning, I can’t expect something from someone if I don’t ask.
If you could only have one makeup item, what would it be? So easy! Definitely mascara.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? 10 years from now, I hope I retire soon and I’m finally doing what I love to blog and living the life I’ve always dreamed of.
What is your favorite inspirational quote? My favorite inspirational quotes would be:
“Life is too short to wake up with regrets, so love those who treat you well, forget those who don’t, Believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get an opportunity, take it. If it changes your life, let it change. No one says life will be easy, they just promise that it will most likely be worth it. “
What is your favorite blog post that you have published so far? My favorite blog post will have to be one of my first on 5 Things You Should Know Before You Hike the Inca Trail. It got a lot of likes and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
What’s the one thing you can’t live without? My family.
