Surprise Return for Grand Island Marine at Eppley Airport
OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – After arriving at Eppley Field, the families are reunited.
Every Thanksgiving coming home is special, so how do you make these moments unforgettable?
Cook’s began with a plan to surprise their son.
“He was just expecting me,” said Tim Cook. “But he doesn’t know, I’m bringing his wife and adopted sister.”
“I don’t think he has a clue,” Jewelie Cook said. “He knows I have work to do and he knows it will probably be difficult for me to leave Grand Island, where we are from, so I can’t be here to pick him up.”
So when USMC Cpl. Tanner Cook met his father in Terminal A at Eppley Airport, he did not see his mother, or sister, arrive.
“They definitely caught me off guard,” said Tanner Cook.
An Osprey mechanic at Marine Corp New River Air Station, Tanner is now keeping an eye on — and his stomach — for a home-cooked thanksgiving feast, starting with his mother’s chickpea casserole. he loves.
