Swedish TV show ‘Threesome’ sold to Channel 4, RTL, Canal+ – The Hollywood Reporter
Three of Europe’s TV powerhouses – Channel 4 in the UK, RTL in Germany and Canal+ in France – have gone to bed with Sweden Play with three people.
The networks have acquired the rights in their respective territories for the new Swedish TV series, which premiered on Nordic Entertainment Group’s Viaplay earlier this year.
Channel 4 has attracted programming for the All 4 streaming service, selected RTL Play with three people for the RTL Passion channel in Germany, and Canal+ has acquired the channel for its main pay TV outlet.

Viaplay is doubling down on its original series as it moves to expand beyond the Nordic region. About 60 of Viaplay’s originals are due out in 2022.
Earlier this month, parent company Nordic Entertainment Group signed a multi-year production and development contract with MGM International Television Productions. The two companies will develop and co-produce six original international films in English for Viaplay, starting with the TV series Western. Billy the Kid, starring British actor Tom Blyth (Adoration), and apocalyptic thrillers Last Light featuring Matthew Fox (Pass away).
Already a major player in the region in the Nordic territories, Viaplay this year launched the Polish version of the SVOD service and will roll out the US version of Viaplay by the end of 2021. Viaplay has plans. launching local versions of its service in the Netherlands and the UK. next year, followed by Germany, Australia and Canada in 2023.
