Swing Crashes At Crowded Fair In Punjab, Children Injured
Police said the reason was still unknown and an investigation was underway.
A high-rise swing with many people including children on it crashed at a crowded fair on the Dussehra estate in Punjab’s Mohali on Sunday, police said.
A video of the incident is going viral, as the swing can be seen spinning and slowly going up. It stopped at a height and continued to spin, but instead of descending slowly, the swing fell freely, injuring several people including children. The incident happened around 9:15pm at Stage 8 in Mohali on Sunday.

Several people were seen swinging out of their seats into the sky due to the impact and a loud noise was heard causing them to panic.
Fair organizers were allowed to hold the event until September 4, however, a notice of extension of the deadline was put up right where it was mentioned September 11 as the deadline. , an official said.
“What we know so far is that they have been allowed to hold the show. However, no one will be forgiven if there is a mistake on their part. There will be strict action according to the law,” said Deputy Director. of Police Harsimran Singh Bal said.
About 10-15 people were injured and taken to a civilian hospital in Mohali.
A police official alleges that residents, instead of helping the injured, blamed the officials for being late. The official added.
