Before Pakistan pacer Aaqib Javed calculated that South Africa has the maximum probability of reaching the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022, based on Australia’s tendency to perform well in terms of conditions. Javed has also predicted that only one of India and Pakistan will join Proteas from group 2.
India, Pakistan and South Africa are three of the strongest in group 2, while the other three are Zimbabwe, the Netherlands and Bangladesh. India will face Pakistan and South Africa on October 23 and 30 respectively. Meanwhile, Proteas will face WC 2009 T20 champions on November 3 in Sydney.
Talking to Pakistani CricketLahore Qalandars head coach said:
“South Africa has a chance to get through to the semi-finals because they will perform better on these pitches. I see only one of the two teams Pakistan and India in the semi-finals.”
South Africa almost missed out on a semi-final spot in the 2021 edition. However, they will aim to go deep this year and exploit the conditions in Australia with their bowling unit. Proteas has also yet to win the T20 World Cup crown.

Javed favors the speed trio of Shaheen Shah AfridiHaris Rauf and Naseem Shah make life difficult for the opposition, adding:
“No team has bowlers like these three. sleepless teams.”
The Men in Green are the most dominant team in the 2021 edition up to the semi-finals, having an undefeated streak. Babar Azam and Co. suffered a heartbreaking loss to eventual champions Australia. Much will depend on the opening performance of Pakistan and their bowling unit if they win the T20 World Cup crown for a second time.
