“They [those arrested] have been celebrating India’s defeat… each such act has the potential of setting into movement a ‘regulation and order scenario’, in order that needs to be prevented by all means,” Kanchan Gupta, senior adviser to the ministry of data and broadcasting, advised the BBC as he defended the arrests.
