Taliban praise suicide bombers, offer families cash and land

KABUL —
The Taliban praised suicide bombers who died in the course of the battle towards the previous authorities and its Western allies and supplied their households sums of money and guarantees of land, the motion’s inside ministry mentioned in a press release.

Sirajuddin Haqqani, the performing inside ministry who has a US$10 million U.S. bounty on his head as a “specifically designated world terrorist,” met the households at a ceremony on the Intercontinental Lodge in Kabul, which was itself focused by suicide bombers in 2018.

Official images of the assembly on Tuesday obscured his face.

“In his speech, the minister praised the Jihad and sacrifices of the martyrs and Mujahidin and referred to as them heroes of Islam and the nation,” the ministry mentioned in a press release on Twitter.

Households of the suicide bombers got clothes, 10,000 afghani ($111) and promised plots of land, spokesman Qari Sayeed Khosti mentioned.

Haqqani took over from his father Jalaluddin Haqqani as head of the Haqqani community, a militant group affiliated with the Taliban that was blamed by Western intelligence providers for among the bloodiest suicide assaults of the battle.

He’s needed for questioning by the FBI in reference to an assault on one other resort in Kabul in 2008 during which six individuals together with an American citizen have been killed.

Following the Taliban’s victory over the Western-backed authorities which collapsed in August, Islamic State militants have carried out a collection of suicide bombings towards mosques and different targets, killing a whole lot of civilians.
