Victims of a mass shooting at a elementary school in Texas includes a “loving 10-year-old boy” and an “adventurous” teacher, a caring mother and wife.
Officials in Uvalde on Wednesday informed all families who lost loved ones in Tuesday’s murder that 19 children and two teachers were killed, CNN reported.
These numbers are subject to change as authorities provide updates, but what is known so far is that the victims were in fourth grade at Robb Elementary School.
Details of the victims are beginning to emerge. Here’s what we know so far.
Uziyah Garcia is “the sweetest boy” Manny Renfro has ever known.
“I’m not just saying that because he’s my nephew,” Renfro told The Associated Press of the eight-year-old boy who was among those killed.
Renfro last saw Uziyah in San Angelo, Texas during spring break.
“We started pitching together and I’m teaching him the passing patterns – such a fast boy and he can catch the ball very well,” he said.
“There’s some plays that I’m going to call that he’s going to remember and he’s going to do it exactly like we did the rehearsal.”
Amerie Jo Garza, 10, was identified by her father, Angel, as one of the victims in a Facebook post that has now gone viral.
“Thank you everyone for your prayers and help trying to find my baby. She was found. My little love is now flying high with the angels in the sky. Please don’t underestimate a second. Embrace your family. Tell them you love them. I love you Amerie jo. Watch out for your little brother for me,” he said.
It was an update to a post he had posted a few hours earlier, asking for help finding his daughter.
“I don’t ask for much or even barely post on here but please. It’s already 7 o’clock and I still haven’t received any news about my love,” he said.
“Please fb help me find my daughter.”
