As celebrities parade up and down the steps of Met Gala 2022 on Monday night, Teyana Taylor and Winnie Harlow took some time to soak up the beauty of each other’s Iris van Herpen designs. While the silhouette, color and overall aesthetic of their dresses couldn’t be more different, both Taylor and Harlow embraced “the gala”.Gilded Glamor Theme “there was no doubt that they understood the quest.
Taylor’s otherworldly design is a semi-circle skirt with puffy sleeves, laced slits, and a bunch of handkerchiefs floating in the back in a watercolor pattern. She styled the look with Louboutin sandals, Lillian Shalom jewelry and a Malakai “Psyche” couture mask made of sterling silver vines and accented with amethyst stones. Taylor’s beauty team completed the look with a bun, purple eyeshadow, and marble nails that mirrored the lavender and iris of the dress.
While Taylor’s look fits the color spectrum, Harlow sported a monochrome Iris van Herpen mini dress reminiscent of a flower. “White Swan,” Harlow captioned photos of her look on Instagram. The avant-garde dress features a rounded silhouette drawn with intricate vine-like designs and embellished with spiked accents emerging from the hem and bodice. Each branch-like tassel has a black pointed cap at the end reminiscent of porcupine quills. Harlow wore a big head consists of feathers and gems arranged in a crown-like pattern. She styled the futuristic dress with Wempe diamond jewelry, white strappy heels and bold mascara.
Throughout the red carpet, Harlow spotted Taylor and stepped forward to snap a few pictures with her, fully aware of how special their looks at the Met Gala were. Separately, Harlow and Taylor nailed the event over-the-top themebut together, their game style is unmatched.
