The 10 biggest game releases for September 2022
September is off to a strong start with a re-master of one of the best games of all time. Season 1 of The Last of Us features updated and improved AI, new stationary mode, speed run mode, updated photo mode, unlockable costumes for Joel and Ellie, and a model viewer . Technically, Part 1 can render in native 4K at a targeted 30fps, or dynamic 4K at a targeted 60fps display.
This year’s NBA production from 2K makes a bunch of changes to the gameplay and focuses on bringing balance back to the offensive game. New gesture combinations, such as double throw and backtrack, aim to provide shooting windows in tight intervals. The double throw gesture is used for the jump layout, while the back gesture is used for the Euro step layout and the cradle layout. The game’s ball-handling combos are also expanding, with the full list of Cross-Movements nearly doubling from last year’s game, from 15 to 28 options.
Splatoon is back and this time it introduces new modes like Splatfests, where matches will have not two but three competitive sides, and Table Battles, a new card-collecting puzzle game mode. All weapons from previous Splatoon games will return, along with a new bow-like weapon called the Stringer and a melee sword weapon with a charged slash called the Splatana.
