The 20 best books to read in your 30s for growth and insight
If you told my 22-year-old girl that one day she would research the best books to read in your 30s, she would probably joke a little about written books. Of course, 10 years later, I realized how silly that was. In a way, I feel younger now than I am 25 years old. Gathering a little experience and outlook on life will do it.
That life experience has also brought me back to the same craving for books as when I was a child. Before bed, when traveling, and whenever I need a little break on a quiet afternoon, I find myself turning to books more and more. I know from talking to friends that I am not alone in this. Maybe some of us just need a little time away to remember how magical it is to read a really good story.
Now, go back to those books to read in your 30s… I promise you won’t find anything about the prewritten volumes. I’ve broken this list down by the types of books I find myself reaching for most (and my friends, too). There are life-changing essays (therefore many!), inspirational memoirs, forever good fiction stories and brand new works have become instant must-reads.
So grab a warm blanket, pour a cup of tea (or wine) and listen to a book that teaches, challenges, or entertains in profound new ways. Whichever book you choose below, I can promise one thing: you’ll never regret choosing it.
