You may have heard of many of our picks over the years—Andrew Ng, Helen Greiner, Phung Chuong, Chau Trac Nghien, Ian Goodfellow, Diet again Abebe, Julie Shah, Joy Buolamwiniand Natalia Baileyto name a few.
We’re looking for people doing exciting work in all areas of technology—biotechnology, artificial intelligence, robotics, computing, energy, electronics, software, nanomaterials, and the internet. Some of our winners have invented a particular technology, while others are entrepreneurs who use technology in a new or exciting way. Others are working to use technology to address social injustice or make the lives of disadvantaged people easier.
We want to be able to answer questions like: What is innovation here? What has this person achieved that has never been achieved in this way before? How is this person working to solve a big tech problem that could make a big difference in people’s lives?
Many of our applicants come from universities or research corporations, but we also want to showcase inventors, startup founders and activists using technology in new ways. creative to make a difference in their community.
