The acclaimed TMNT graphic novel ‘The Last Ronin’ is getting a video game soon
A brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game based on Last Ronin, the 2020 graphic novel miniseries, is currently in development. Doug Rosen, Paramount Global’s senior vice president of gaming and emerging media, confirmed this in an interview with polygon.
The Last Ronin is a critically-acclaimed graphic novel in the TMNT series set in the future and features only one of the turtles in the lead role — all the others have since been exterminated. from there, including Splinter (we won’t tell you which turtle survived, of course). The miniseries spans five issues from 2020 to 2022 and is written by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Tom Waltz, and Andy Kuhn, with art by Kuhn and Ben Bates, who are known for contributing to the Sonic the comics Archie’s hedgehog.
Rosen says that the game draws inspiration from recent third-person action RPGs like God of War, would fit the more mature style of The Last Ronin. This is a graphic novel not intended for children, but it is an absolutely brilliant novel that is loved by TMNT fans.
