It is a gorgeous day to spill Gray’s Anatomy tea.
In an excerpt from Lynette Rice‘s new guide, How you can Save a Life: The Inside Story of Gray’s Anatomy—which was first obtained by The Hollywood Reporter—it was revealed that there wasn’t simply drama within the scripts of the ABC medical present. Particularly, via interviews carried out with Gray’s stars and producers, the origin story behind Patrick Dempsey‘s exit was mentioned, and, frankly, it left us needing a crash cart.
In response to James D. Parriott, a former govt producer for Gray’s, issues have been very tense between Dempsey and sequence creator Shonda Rhimes by season 11. “Shonda wanted an OG to return in as kind of a showrunner for fourteen episodes,” Parriott shared within the guide. “There have been HR points. It wasn’t sexual in any manner. He kind of was terrorizing the set. Some forged members had all types of PTSD with him.”
As Parriott continued, he described Dempsey as having a “maintain on the set,” since “he knew he might cease manufacturing and scare folks.” Seems like a lower than McDreamy expertise!
