AMBRIDGE (KDKA) – Sometimes it starts out as just celebrating the season and then it evolves into something that makes the community happy.
Denise and Bob Dunn’s home along Maplewood Avenue in Ambridge is decorated with Christmas lights from top to bottom.
The Dunns say they started lighting about 25 years ago and it started with three simple filaments.
Since then, it has evolved into a large display consisting of 20,000 lights.
The couple used the screen to raise money for Saint Jude Hospital.
“Over the years, to date, we have raised over $65,000,” says Bob.
“It’s worth it to save those kids, we have some survivors, and they have offices in Pittsburgh and they’re going to come down and spend time with us,” Denise added.
The Dunns also dress up as Santa and Mrs. Claus on weekends and welcome visitors to their homes.
