“Obviously it’s well worth the win, but to get it done at the beginning of the year would be great,” Rahm said. “The only thing I can keep thinking about is [that] I mentioned how much I loved that week.
“So I was able to say [his wife] Kelley and the people helping us with our travel, ‘well, book a hotel for next year as we will definitely be back’.
“It’s great to get a lot of FedEx Cup points at the start of the year but to start 2023 with a win, let’s say it maximizes my chances of getting as many wins as possible. It’s a start. wonderful.
“I’ve seen a few players win that event and then shed a tear for a year, such as Cam Smith who was last last year. So I hope it’s one. among them [years] that can start in the right way and get a few wins and hopefully a big tournament there.”
