Real Madrid legend Guti has expressed his desire to see Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe sign with Los Blancos.
Mbappe is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer before the 2022-2023 season. However, after an unexpected turn of events, he put pen to paper on a new deal with PSG.
Los Blancos President Florentino Perez is said to be very upset by this striker’s change of heart. However, the Spaniards refuse to exclude a move for the future one-time FIFA World Cup champion.
Real Madrid great Guti has now urged the La Liga giants to return to recruiting the French international. The former attacking player thinks the best players in the world should play for European heavyweights. He said above El Chiringuito [via @MadridXtra on Twitter]:
“Real Madrid must go after Kylian Mbappe. The best players have to play at Real Madrid.”
How is Mbappe linked with Real Madrid for PSG?
PSG secured Mbappe’s services on an initial loan deal from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017. They went on to make a permanent transfer for a whopping €180 million the following year.
The 24-year-old has become an important player for Parisians, has 237 appearances in all competitions. He scored 190 goals and scored 93 assists in those games.
However, it has been suggested that the striker is not of the same opinion as his PSG teammates Neymar this season. Both allegedly fell for a penalty during the team’s 5-2 win over Montpellier in August.

Mbappe has notably made headlines with his performance for France at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. His contribution has seen Les Bleus reached the final of the competition in Qatar.
He was close to claiming his second FIFA World Cup trophy on Sunday, December 18. However, Argentina beat France in the final on penalties to take the title.
The former Monaco star won the Golden Boot award at the end of the tournament. He won the title after scoring in the net eight times during the FIFA World Cup.
He has a contract with the French giants PSG until the end of the 2024-25 season. However, it remains to be seen whether he will choose to leave the club in the near future. Los Blancos another chance to sign him.
