The new one BMW M2 2023 just roaming the streets, and it’s a great sports coupe. But it looks like it won’t stay in the top 2 for long, as there’s already something even more serious. M2 CS on the way. That is based on the spy photos showing off an M2 with more powerful aerodynamics.
Up front is a much lower and deeper chin spoiler. And then at the back, there’s a tall ducktail spoiler. Both make the car look sportier and are capable of providing a bit more downforce.
Surprisingly, that seems to be the extent of the changes visible. It seems to have the same wheels and brake like the regular M2, and it doesn’t seem to be any wider. The diffuser and radiator have not had any changes, neither is the hood. It definitely looks more tame than the treatment used on M3CS.
But we expect things to be hotter under the skin. It will almost certainly have more power. Something suitable Regular M3 And M4 seems reasonable, and if it ends up matching the base versions of those with 473 hp, it might even still have a manual transmission (since those get it too) . But it is also possible BMW car will do a lot more and can restrict it to automatic mode for the absolute fastest shifts. It will be the hottest M2 after all (or at least until BMW decides to do something like CSL version).
There will certainly be chassis upgrades as well: the suspension has been retuned from the springs and shock absorbers to the chassis struts. Weight could also be reduced thanks to some removed parts and some lightweight materials, if M3 CS is anything to come across.
This M2 CS prototype looks pretty mature, but based on the CS and CSL releases for the M3 and M4, it could take a year, maybe two years before it comes out. And naturally, expect a healthy price increase for the upgrades.
