The Boys Showrunner’s Eric Kripke Didn’t Think There Was An Entire Musical Episode

One of the highlights of Episode 5 of Season 3 of The Boys on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service is the large number of musicals featuring Frenchie (Tomer Copone) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) – This is definitely the best part of the season. And while this is just one scene from one episode, is it possible that there will be an entire episode of The Boys musical? According to host Eric Kripke, that probably won’t happen.

“I’m a big fan of musicals,” Kripke told GameSpot. “Especially like old-school, Hollywood musicals. And I died to put a large amount of classical, innocent music on one of my shows, maybe since Supernatural, but really, really. blew that door open: lots of backup dancers, huge choreography.”

And Kripke and company did just that, putting a lot of work into a hospital song and dance that turned out to be one of the more interesting songs. However, an entire episode can be unpredictable. “I loved it,” Kripke continued. “I don’t know how to justify it. You know, unless there’s some sort of mass illusion. The Boys isn’t a world where you can enjoy watching a musical unless everyone else is. So I would love to do a full-length musical if I knew how to pull it out, but I don’t know how to pull it out.”

Kripke has joked that it could act as an episode of Diabolical’s animated spinoff series, Prime Video.

However, the short scene between Kimiko and Frenchie dancing in the hospital takes a lot of work and has a lot of challenges. “Obviously there’s choreography, Karen [Fukuhara] and Tomer [Capone] had to do, but then it would be like 50 backup dancers, all of whom had to fit in a hospital location, using props and hospital equipment around them,” explained Kripke. The creation of our choreographer, Amy Wright, was amazing how she put it all together, and then had to rethink it, based on the location we found it and the hallways. that we had to move and just make it fit in that space. You know, I thought it was really tough, but I think she did a great job. “

The Boys has been renewed for Season 4and this season is a wild season, Introducing Jensen Aboards as Boomer Soldier– one of this year’s villains. One of the wilder moments of this season so far is Worm eating one of his friends, and actor Chace Crawford discussed filming it.

In GameSpot’s Review of Season 3 of The BoysMat Elfring said, “The Boys continues to be one of the best superhero TV shows. It’s a series that knows its identity and focuses on it every season. It continues to grow and evolve and grow. evolving the world it lives in without losing that identity too.The cast is also delivering some of the best performances of the series here. The Boys Season 3 is a must-see in the series. summer. “
