The Broncos Don’t Buy Russell Wilson’s Audible Statements
Broncos do not buy claims that Russell Wilson calling sounds they’ve never heard before.
“It’s BS,” strike lineman Dalton Risner told KOA-AM/FM’s Ryan Edwards in Denver, “There hasn’t been a time when he’s checked the line where we don’t know what it is.”
Risner responded to requests from Tyler Polombus, a former offensive soldier for the Seahawks and Broncos.
“Russ is losing his mind out there. He’s using hearing aids from the Seahawks,” Polumbus said Wednesday on Altitude Sports Radio in Denver.
Benjamin Albright, a Broncos insider and Edwards colleague, added to Polumbus. “There’s truth to that,” he said on Twitter.
Clearly, however, this is a possible exaggeration.
When reporters asked head coach Nathaniel Hackett if Wilson was redesigning his attack, he looked stunned.
“That’s news to me,” Hackett said in one Thursday press conference.
According to Hackett, Wilson uses code words from Seattle, but he knows it and “it doesn’t confuse (him)”.
Wilson and the Broncos (3-6) were disappointing. Through nine games, Denver ranked Final in scoring offense, Wilson is posting a career low 33.1QBR, and they are leading 1-5 in the past six games.
According to NFL Network’s James Palmer, they could join the Steelers in 1946 as the only team to lead the league in scoring on defense while placing last in scoring in offense.
Despite the disaster, blaming Wilson and making partial false accusations did not solve the problem.
