The car crashed into the house at Menomonee waterfall, causing a gas leak

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) – The Menomonee Falls Fire Department announced that a car went off the road and into a home near Main and Rock Pointe in Menomonee Falls on Sunday, December 12.

Authorities did not describe the circumstances behind how the car crashed into a house but said the vehicle hit a gas meter attached to the house.

Reports suggest that the collision with the gas meter caused the basement to fill with gas with readings in the “explosive range”.

Firefighters reported ventilating the home, and We Energies turned off the gas.

Thankfully, officials did not report any injuries in the home as a result of the collision.

Records show the driver of the vehicle was taken to an area hospital.

The Waukesha Sheriff’s Office is said to be conducting an investigation into the incident.
