The crooked media officer merges with the WGA East – The Hollywood Reporter

The “overwhelming majority” of employees at Crooked Media, the progressive media company behind Pod save Americais seeking to merge with the East American Writers Association, the association said Monday.

Crooked Media was founded in 2017 by former Obama staffers Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett and Tommy Vietor. In merging with WGA East, Crooked Media employees are pursuing similar consolidation efforts from podcasting outlets such as Spotify’s Gimlet Media, Parcast and The Ringer; iHeart Podcast Network; and Pineapple Sugar Studios.
