COOKEVILLE, TN (WSMV) – A Cookeville family paid tribute to a sister and mother who were murdered this weekend, and now her fiancé has been charged with first-degree murder.
Bianca Hawklik is Lyndzy Bounds’ sister and said she has met Bounds’ fiance, Christian Luna, a few times; one is Sunday. The apartments on 12th Street and Willow Street in Cookeville will always remind Hawklik of her sister.
Hawklik said: ‘I watched them walk around and that was the last time I saw my sister.
On Sunday, Hawklik said her sister went into her apartment with Luna for a nap. Bounds tells his sister Luna what a great guy he is, but Hawklik says their relationship is progressing rapidly.
“They went from dating, getting engaged, to getting pregnant in the span of four months,” explains Hawklik.
Hawklik said her sister is 12 weeks pregnant and very excited to be a mother. That all changed when Hawklik said she got a call from their mother on Sunday night.
“In that moment, I completely broke down,” Hawklik said. “Actually it looks like it’s changed.”
A man in custody in Louisiana is expected to be charged with the murder of his fiancée in Cookeville this weekend.
Sunday afternoon, Cookeville Police said they went to Bounds’ apartment for a welfare check, where they found Bounds dead. So for now, Hawklik is planning his sister’s funeral.
“This is the kind of thing I would text her at 3 a.m. when I was upset, and she would be there to talk to me,” says Hawklik. “And she’s not here anymore because of that, you know?”
Hawklik wondered if things could have ended the way her sister did now.
Hawklik commented: “I just left, and that is probably one of my biggest regrets.
Cookeville police said Luna fled to Louisiana and is currently in police custody. He will be extradited to Tennessee in the next few weeks.
