The first 16 minutes of the Gotham Knights game have been revealed
Warner Bros. Games has released a nice gameplay trailer for its upcoming game Knight of Gothamwith IGN debuted in the first 16 minutes of the action RPG. While players will be able to choose between four of Batman’s guardian characters including Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin, the video says Bat girl in the spotlight.
The investigative scene featured in IGN’s video functions as a sort of tutorial level, taking the player through basic mechanics and scenarios that will appear later in the game. While the video introduces the first 16 minutes of the actual game, it omits the narrative-focused opening that Warner Bros. is choosing to keep it a secret for now.
In a chaperone article on IGN, Gotham Knights creative director Patrick Redding explains that the game won’t start players off as underdogs, as might be traditional in the RPG genre. Each of the playable characters are “effective graduates of the Batman Crime Battle School,” explained Redding, meaning they should have no problem taking down the thug. your average.
Where the leveling elements of the RPG come into play is where each character becomes more distinct. Redding explains that at the start, all the characters have a fairly similar set of moves in terms of “Batman stuff”. As the game progresses, each Knight will hone their own unique skills and powers, as they fully transition to their own flavor of a Dark Knight of Gotham City. “
